=== Note ===
The keys to this individual are his birth and his parents. His father is Peter Doors so he uses the patronymic "Peters". Peter's wife was Lysgen (Elizabeth) Grietes.
This individual's name is Mattheis or Mathew which can be shortened to Theis; the patronymic for that is Theissen, so his children sometimes use Theissen as a last name. I would suggest using Matteis Peters Doors as his name and putting in Theis or Theiss as a nickname.
..."Thiess Doors baptized 12 September 1614 in the Catholic Church in Kaldenkirchen, was the son of Peter Dohrs/Doormans and Lysgen (Elizabeth) Grietes. Thiess' name appears in an article about the persecution and suffering of the Mennonites in the Jurich-Berg Historical Journal under the surname Dahrs, Dahrmans, Peters and Peterschen which indicates that his father's name was Peter."...
"Gertrude Doors was born about 1648 in Kaldenkirchen, the daughter of Theiss (Mathew) and Nees (Agnes) Doors. Many earlier genealogies of the Kuster family speak of Gertrude Streypers as the wife of Paulus Kuster. This misconception..."<ref>The Descendants of Paulus and Gertrude Kusters of Kaldenkirchen, Germany and Germantown, Pennsylvania Jean M. === Baptism === Lancelot Shires and Margaret Brown married in Keighley, Yorkshire, England, 18 February 1571 and are purportedly Ann Marie (Mary) Shire's parents, although her maternal parentage has not been proven.<ref>Ancestry.com. West Yorkshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1512-1812 [database on-line]. Original data: West Yorkshire Archive Service; Wakefield, Yorkshire, England; Yorkshire Parish Records. Retrieved from Lehi, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2011; accessed 27 December 2019.</ref> Another source lists Lancelot Shires as the father of Ann Marie Shires, who was baptized in Keighley on 18 November 1576. Research also indicates that Ann had three siblings that include Jane (bap. 1581), Isabel (bap.1583), and Emory (bap. 1585), all of whom were born in Keighley, Yorkshire, England, to Lancelot Shires.<ref>Ancestry.com. England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 [database on-line], FHL Film Number: 599997. Original data: England, Births and Christenings, 1538-1975. Salt Lake City, Utah: FamilySearch, 2013. Retrieved from Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2014; accessed 27 December 2019.</ref> Given the date of Lancelot's and Margaret's marriage, as well as Margaret's date of death, possibly occurring in 1608, it can be surmised that Margaret was the mother of Ann Marie (Mary) Shires, as well as the other three children named above.
=== Marriage ===Records indicate that Ann Shires married Thomas Parrish 1 April 1627 in Baildon, West Riding, Yorkshire, England, at St. John the Evangelist church.<ref>Transcriptions for St John the Evangelist of Baildon in Yorkshire, West Riding (https://www.freereg.org.uk/search_records/5818800ae93790eb7ff29578/an-shires-thomas-parrish-marriage-yorkshire-west-riding-baildon-1627-04-01?locale=en) for the marriage of Ann Shires and Thomas Parrish, transcribed by Ruth Hogan, file line number: 41. Retrieved from Free Reg (https://www.freereg.org.uk); accessed 24 December 2019.</ref> There are, however, in the Pedigree Resource Files at FamilySearch, entries that indicate that they were married in 1596, 1598, or 1599 in Fishlake, Yorkshire, England, in St. Cuthbert's parish and lists the following sources: West Yorkshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1512-1812; Northamptonshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1532-1812; England, Select Marriages, 1538–1973, Ancestry.com; and the Yorkshire, England, Extracted Church of England Parish Records, Ancestry.com. None of these marriage dates for Ann Shires and Thomas Parrish, however, were located within these sources. Moreover, St. John's Evangelist Church in Baildon, West Yorkshire, has records dated after 1621, so had Ann and Thomas married at this location prior to this date, it can not be corroborated through this source. If, instead, the 1627 marriage is correct, Ann would have been 51 years old at the time of her marriage to Thomas, making it all but impossible that Ann, who allegedly died in 1630, would have produced children during this brief three-year marriage. However, what seems more likely, given Ann's younger sister Isabell's marriage in 1602, is that Ann would have married prior to her sister, which would make the 1596-1599 date range probable.<ref>Ancestry.com. West Yorkshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1512-1812 [database on-line]. West Yorkshire Archive Service; Wakefield, Yorkshire, England; Yorkshire Parish Records (marriage of Isabell Shires). Retrieved from Lehi, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2011; accessed 30 January 2020</ref>
Of interest, however, in 17th century England, a legally valid marriage was not necessarily consecrated in a church (although most were), as the basic requirement for a valid marriage was the completion of a marriage contract, called "espousal." Espousal occurred when a woman and man simply said vows in the present tense, often in clandestine fashion. Witnesses were not required, nor did the marriage have to be consecrated in a church to be considered a legally valid marriage in England from the 12th century up to the Marriage Act of 1753. This enabled couples to marry secretly, without parental interference or knowledge.<ref>Brabcova, A. (2012). Marriage in 17th century England: The woman's story (http://fliphtml5.com/pjhk/hiuf/basic). Retrieved from fliphtml5 (http://fliphtml5.com); accessed 6 January 2020).</ref> Whether this characterized the marriage of Ann and Thomas is unknown, of course, but no records have been located that address an appropriate marriage date before the birth of their alleged son, Edward, in 1600.

=== Notable Events ===Although various fee-based genealogical sites list Edward Parrish, born in 1600, as the son of Ann (Shires) Parrish, this is not supported by the 1627 date of Ann's and Thomas's marriage. According to Scott Boyd, while records show that Edward emigrated to colonial Virginia in 1635 and later settled in Elizabeth City County, Virginia, the early records of this county were almost completely destroyed, so there is no verification of Edward's parentage through these means or even that he was the father of Edward-2, who lived in Anne Arundel, Maryland.<ref>Boyd, S. == Research Notes ==Given the inconsistency of dates, it is unknown whether the Ann Shires and Thomas Parrish, who were married in 1627, are those being sought as the parents of Edward Parrish, who was born in 1600. Additional research is needed regarding the various proposed marriage dates between 1596-1599. If a source/s can be found confirming any of these early marriage dates, Ann's parentage of Edward would be substantiated. Without sources corroborating one of these earlier marriage dates, Anne's parentage of Edward may not be able to be proven.
While records for Ann's date of birth and father have been located on Ancestry.com, additional research is needed to find these sources on free source sites.
The original profile indicated that Ann was born in Carlton, Leicestershire, England. No evidence has been found to support this claim.
The following were investigated for the Shires, as well as Parrish families, with no additional biographical data found:

Thomas PAXSON, son of William and Abigail (POWNALL) PAXSON, in the division of the real estate in Solebury fell heir to the farm lately occupied by the JOHNSON family near Centre Bridge, and the island lying opposite. He later purchased other large tracts of land in Solebury, some of which still remain in the tenure of his descendants.
Thomas died in 1782. He married in 1732 Jane CANBY, daughter of Thomas CANBY, an eminent preacher among Friends, (son of Benjamin CANBY of Thorn, Yorkshire) who had come to Pennsylvania with his uncle Henry BAKER. He was three times married, and had nineteen children who intermarried with the most prominent families of Bucks county and have left numerous descendants. The children of Thomas and Jane CANBY PAXSON, were: Joseph, born 9mo. 10, 1733, married 6mo. 28, 1758, Mary HESTON; Benjamin, born 8mo. 1, 1739, married 6mo. 16, 1763, Deborah TAYLOR, (second) in 1797 Rachel NEWBOLD; and (third) in 1807 Mary PICKERING; Oliver, born 7mo. 9, 1741, married, 1766, Ruth WATSON; Rachel, born 3mo. 6, 1744, married, 1764, John WATSON; Jacob, born 11mo. 6, 1745, married in 1769 Lydia BLAKEY; Johnathan, born 11mo. 14, 1748, married, 1771, Rachel BILES; Isaiah, born 9mo. 20, 1751, married, 1775, Mary KNOWLES; and Martha, who died young. Of the above named sons of Thomas and Jane (CANBY) PAXSON, Joseph was devised a farm at Limeport, Solebury township; Benjamin, a farm at Aquetong, still owned by the children of his grandson, Elias Ely PAXSON, one of whom is the wife of Colonel Henry D. PAXSON; Oliver, who married (second) Ruth JOHNSON, was left a farm in the Pike tract, near New Hope; Isaiah, the island known as paxSon's Island, where he died without issue; Jacob, the homestead farm at Centre Bridge; Jonathan, the farm at Rabbit Run, now owned by Thomas MAGILL.<ref>History of Bucks County, Pa Volume 3 by William H. 5195 == Biography ==
=== Birth ===In contrast to numerous unsourced ancestry entries that list Christopher Browne II as father of Henry Browne, sources point to Henry as being born after 1529 to wealthy and politically connected Anthony and Alice (Gage) Browne in Cowdray, Sussex, England. Anthony and Alice had eight children in addition to Henry that include: Mable, William, Mary, Francis, Thomas, George, another son named Henry who may have died young, and Lucy (see Research Notes).<ref>The Weald of Kent, Sussex & Sussex (http://www.theweald.org/N10.asp?NId=4706), for Henry Browne. === Marriage ===That Henry Browne was married to Katherine Percy cannot be proved. Only one reference has been located regarding the possible maternal parentage of Henry's daughter, Margaret, on Ancestry.com, but it does not provide the mother's maiden name, a date, or the location of Margaret's birth.<ref>England & Wales, Christening Index, 1530-1980 [database on-line]. Retrieved from Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2008; accessed 3 February 2020.</ref> Unfortunately, this incomplete source was the only potential connection found (see Research Notes).
=== Notable Events ===There are no located sources that contribute to biographical data for Henry Browne. Likely, as a younger son of Anthony and Alice (born and named Henry likely after his sibling and namesake, Henry, died), his birth order rendered him a place in historical oblivion.<ref>The Weald of Kent, Sussex & Sussex (http://www.theweald.org/N10.asp?NId=4706), for Henry Browne. === Death ===While Henry's death is reported as around 1583 on numerous genealogical sites, no sources have been located to confirm this date.

== Research Notes ==Additional research is needed that includes primary and substantial secondary sources that corroborate the information addressed below.
Sources refute the parentage of Christopher Browne II of Swan Hall, Hawkedon, England, as the father of the subject of this profile. Sources instead show that Christopher Browne, born in 1492, did not have a son named Henry, but instead, had six children named Margaret, Agnes, Robert, Elizabeth, Christopher, and Thomas.<ref>Find A Grave, database and images (accessed 05 February 2020), memorial page for Christopher Browne (1492–3 Jul 1538), {{FindAGrave|130705411|sameas=no}}, citing St. Mary's Churchyard, Hawkedon, St Edmundsbury Borough, Suffolk, England; Maintained by Robert DeVowe (contributor 48224154). </ref><ref> Christopher Browne II, (https://www.geni.com/people/Christopher-Browne-ll-of-Swan-Hall/6000000002666386283). Updated 9 December 2019. Retrieved from Geni.com (https://www.geni.com); accessed 3 February 2020.</ref>
As to the marriage of Henry to Katherine Percy, it is unknown whether Thomas and Eleanor (Harbottle) Percy even had a daughter named Katherine. Although some secondary sources and pedigrees indicate that she did exist and was married to Ralph Ryther, this is not accurate, as her date of birth occurred ten years following Ralph Ryther’s death. The Katherine who first married Ralph Ryther, was in fact, Katherine Constable. While Ralph's second wife was a Percy, he was married to Maud, a daughter of an earlier generation of Percys. There is some dispute as to which Percy sired Maude, possibly the fourth or fifth earl of Northumberland, but most likely the fourth.<ref>Anderson, E. M. (21 December 2008). C. and J. Rivington. Retrieved from Internet Archive (https://archive.org); accessed 3 February 2020.</ref>
A marriage, however, between Henry and Katherine Percy is possible (if she existed), given the relationship between the devout Catholic Browne and Percy families. Sir Anthony Browne Sr. (c. 1443-1506) and Lucy Neville (his second wife) had four biological children (including Anne from a previous marriage):<ref>Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia. (Edited 30 September 2019). Anthony Browne, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Browne_(died_1506)). Retrieved from Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org); accessed 8 February 2020.</ref>
Lucy (1501),
Henry (1506),
Anthony (1500-1548), and
Elizabeth (1502).
Anthony’s (1500-1548) sister, Elizabeth Browne, married Henry Somerset and they had a daughter named Anne (granddaughter of Anthony Browne Sr.) who married Thomas Percy, 7th earl of Northumberland (1528-1572), son of Thomas Percy and Eleanor Harbottle.<ref>Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia. (edited 31 October 2019). Anne Percy, Countess of Northumberland, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Percy,_Countess_of_Northumberland). Retrieved from Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org); accessed 8 February 2020.</ref>
Anthony’s (1500-1548) son, Henry (born c.1529 and grandson of Anthony Browne Sr.), allegedly married Katherine Percy (born c.1534) (per Ancestry.com). Her parents were Thomas Percy and Eleanor Harbottle. Henry Browne and Anne Percy (Elizabeth’s daughter), therefore, would have been first cousins.
Also, given that Katherine Percy's brother married Elizabeth Browne, of noble birth through the Anthony Browne family lineage (Montagu), the likelihood of two Percy siblings marrying into two separate Browne families – one of noble lineage, the other not (Christopher Browne II, merchant), is unlikely.
The original source for this marriage as listed in numerous Ancestry.com trees has not been located, despite extensive investigation. Additional research is needed, as the close familial relationship between the Browne and Percy families suggests a certain validity to Ancestry.com’s unverified claims.
