      == Last Will and Testament ==Last Will and Testament of Willliam Parlet in the name of God, Amen this third day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty. I William Parlett of the County of Baltimore in the State of Maryland being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that its appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament and as touching my Worldly estate wherein it hath pleased God to bless me in this I life I give devise and dispose of the same in manner and forms following Imprints. i give and bequeath unto my son Charles Parlet five shillings common current money to be paid him out of my estate after my decease and no more.
      Item 1; I give and bequeath unto my son Joshua Parlett fifty acres of land the upper part of Smith's Chance to him his heirs forever lawfully begotten of his and in case he should die without issue or in case of failure of heirs then the said land to descend to my son David Parlet and his heirs forever lawfully begotten of his body also I give and bequeath unto my don David Parlet the lower part of Smith's Chance containing fifty acres of land to him and his heirs forever lawfully begotten of his body and Incase As of failure of heirs then the said fifty acres of land being the lower part of Smith's Chance to descend to my youngest son Joshua Parlet and his heirs forever lawfully begotten of his body.
      Item 2 my will and desire is that my dwelling plantation a and all the appurtenances belonging thereto shall remain and be to the only proper use and be hoof of my well beloved wife Sarah Parlet and for her use service benefit during her natural life and after the decease of my beloved wife the said plantation and dwelling and appurtenances thereto to descend to my son William Parlet and his heirs forever lawfully begotten of his body and in case of failure of heirs or issue then the said dwelling plantation and appurtenances to descend to the next heirs. I give and bequeath to my son Poll Martin Parlet all that tract and parcel of land called Parlet addition whereon my deceased Mother mother used to dwell to him and his heirs forever lawfully begotten of his body and to the only proper use and be hoof of my said son Martin but in case of failure of heirs or want of issue then to descend to the next heirs.
      Item 3; I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sarah Parlet a Negro wench at her own and first choice of my said Negroes also a feather be and furniture and bed stead also a house at her choice exclusive of the thirds of my estate which the law allows her and which is her right all which I bequeath her during her natural life and after her decease, the said moveables to be equally divided among my family of children.
      Item 4; I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Grimes one Negro boy named Sam to her and her heirs forever.
      item 5; I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Roberts one Negro wench named Abigal to her and her heirs forever.
      Item 6; I give and bequeath unto my daughter Rachel one Negro girl named Tydy to her and her heirs forever lawfully begotten of her body.
      Item 7; My will and desire is that all the rest and residence of my estate may be equally divided amongst my children after my decease except what is above disposed of.
      Item 8; my will and desire is that Benjamin Buck may join my Executor in helping to settle and manage my affairs after my decease to be paid and allowed for the same accordingly.
      Item 9; I nominate constitute and appoint my trusty and well beloved son William Parlet my whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament for the manages and settling my affairs. Utterly revoking disannul and disallowing all the other former wills, testaments of deeds of gift by me at anytime made before satisfying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
      In witness whereof I have hereunto set by hand and afflict my seal the day and year first above written. Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of William X Fitch; John Nitzor; William X Parlet; Henry Frinsham
