=== Birth ===Margaret was baptized on 22 September 1553 to Henry Browne in Kirkham, Lancashire, England.<ref>England, select births and christenings, 1538-1975 (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NYB6-VJ1), [database on-line]. Original data: England, Births and Christenings, 1538-1975. Salt Lake City, Utah: FamilySearch, 2013; accessed 23 January 2020.</ref> Her mother was allegedly Catherine Percy, but no supporting documents that list her maiden name have been found.
=== Marriage ===Lancelot Shires and Margaret Brown married in Keighley, Yorkshire, England, 18 February 1571 and are purportedly Ann Marie (Mary) Shire's parents.<ref>Ancestry.com. West Yorkshire, England, Church of England baptisms, marriages and burials, 1512-1812, [database on-line]. Original data: West Yorkshire Archive Service; Wakefield, Yorkshire, England; Yorkshire Parish Records. Retrieved from Lehi, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2011; accessed 23 January 2020.</ref> Sources indicate that Lancelot had four children: Mary (bap. 1576), Jane (bap. 1581), Isabel (bap.1583), and Emory (bap. 1585), all of whom were born in Keighley, Yorkshire, England.<ref>Ancestry.com. England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 [database on-line], FHL Film Number: 599997. Original data: England, Births and Christenings, 1538-1975. Salt Lake City, Utah: FamilySearch, 2013. Retrieved from Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2014; accessed 27 December 2019.</ref> Given the date of Lancelot's and Margaret's marriage, as well as Margaret's date of death (if accurate), it can be surmised that Margaret was the mother of Ann Marie (Mary) Browne Shires, as well as the other three children.
=== Notable Events ===No additional information has been located regarding biographical data for Margaret Browne Shires.
=== Death ===A source from FamilySearch indicates that a Margaret Browne died in Hedon, York, East Riding Yorkshire, in 1608.<ref>"England Deaths and Burials, 1538-1991," (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:J87B-WYF), online database. FamilySearch. http://FamilySearch.org : 24 January 2020. Index based upon data collected by the Genealogical Society of Utah, Salt Lake City. Retrieved from FamilySearch (familysearch.org); accessed 24 January 2020.</ref> Given Hedon's proximity to West Riding, where numerous family members of Margaret's lived in Keighley, this seems a possible location of her burial. This is the only workable source located that places her burial within the county of Yorkshire. There is also some question regarding her name as Browne and not Shires on this death record, indicating that this source may not be relevant to the subject of this profile.
== Research Notes ==Research is ongoing and should continue in an attempt to find non-fee-based sources to replace Ancestry.com entries.
The greatest deterrent in locating biographical data on Margaret Browne is the commonality of her name, as well as her father's, Henry. Likewise, scant information has been found regarding Margaret's maternal parentage. There is also a paucity of information regarding the Browne or Shires families in Yorkshire and surrounding area's literature.
