      ----
      ==Biography==:Born in England c.1619, Ann Dodge was the wife of early settler Trustram Dodge, Sr. (1607-1683), an English mariner-fisherman who had initially emigrated to Newfoundland, then came to Block Island in 1661. Her origins and parents are unknown.
      :According to several sources, the couple had wed in the early 1640's. Widowed in 1683, Mrs. Dodge is believed to have survived her husband by only a few years, dying on Block Island c.1684-5, when she was in her mid-60's.

      === Name ===
      :'''Name:''' Anne Unknown.
      :Often found on the internet as Anne Mansfield, there is no evidence to support this LNAB (last name at birth). Her maiden name, origins and parents remain unknown.

      === Birth ===
      :Birth: Say 1620 (1610-1625) in England.
      :''Very rough estimate based solely on birth of children.''

      === Marriage and Children ===
      :'''Married:''' Tristram Dodge (1607 - 1683) about 1643.:''Estimated date based solely on knowing that son John was born about 1644.''
      :Children of Tristram and Anne Dodge: <ref>Woodward. ''Dodge Genealogy'' (1904).</ref>
      #John Dodge. Born about 1644. Died 1729 "aged 85".
      #Israel Dodge Born say 1645.#Tristram Dodge Born about 1647. Died 18 August 1733 "in ye 87th year of his age''.
      #William Dodge.#Margaret Dodge. Only record of this daughter is from a secondary source which says she married John Rathbone.
      #Ann Dodge.

      === Death ===
      :'''Died:''' 1686.:'''Buried:''' Island Cemetery in New Shoreham, Washington County, Rhode Island, USA. <ref> [https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=55530441 Find A Grave Memorial# 55530441]</ref>
      :Her approximate gravesite is marked by a Victorian reproduction of an earlier headstone in the style of the noted Rhode Island carver Capt. John Bull of Newport. Unlike stones of the colonial period, the repro is 6" thick. The inscription states that Ann and Trustrum Dodge were the parents of children named John, Trustrum, William, Israel, Margaret, and Ann. A geneaology of successive generations of the Dodge Family, whose history has been intertwined with that of Block Island for over 300 years, continues on the back of the stone.

      === Common Errors to Avoid ===:'''Incorrect parents:''' It can be found on the internet that her name was Anne Mansfield, and that she was the daughter of John Mansfield and Mary Shard - this is incorrect.
      :First, there is no evidence that her LNAB was even Mansfield. The Dodge Family Association has never found a maiden name for Anne.
      :Second, she cannot possibly be the daughter of John Mansfield and Mary Shard. They did not have a daughter Anne, as their only children were a son John and a daughter Elizabeth. Furthermore, Anne's supposed siblings were born in 1648, a full generation and a half after Anne's birth. <ref>Richardson, Douglas.
