Amanda Leona Jefferson (1877–1956). Alva and “Leona” became dairy farmers in Northampton, OH. The Keyser home in Cuyahoga was originally built by the Best family in 1877 with J. C. Johnston, an in-law and master builder erected the farmhouse. In 1905 the Keyser family purchased the home. The Keysers sold a portion of their land to the City of Cuyahoga Falls in 1986, and then the final portion in 1993. This property is now known as Keyser Park, in Cuyahoga Falls and is named in honor of Alva. ::His daughter Carrie Keyser Swain was a local historian and instrumental in forming the society. She led the restoration of "Old Center Schoolhouse" as a meeting place and museum for citizens. The one-room schoolhouse was destroyed by a tornado on July 12, 1992 that took the schoolhouse off of its foundation and carried it 75 feet away, smashing it flat. Artifacts were strewn afar also.
