Note: Contact Skip Maygar to see his death certificate which states that his father was "born in Germantown, Pa. This would place Andrew and his wife there in 1784 and support those who say that Andrew is descended from the Dirck Keyser (1635-1714) of Amsterdam who emigrated to Germantown in 1688.
Website quote (see reference): ''William Keyser II was born on 27 May 1784 in Germantown, Pennsylvania, a descendant of Dirck Keyser who came to Germantown in 1688 from Amsterdam. William was named after his brother William who was born on 15 Jan 1783 and died shortly thereafter and also for his paternal grandfather. William was one of thirteen children born to Andrew Keyser and Mary Palmer and the oldest son that grew to adulthood. Margaret “Peggy” Workman was born about 1784 in Maryland and her line can be traced back to Richard John Workman (Dirk Jan Woertman) who came to America in 1647 also from Amsterdam. Margaret was the daughter of William P. Workman and Phoebe Critchfield. The marriage of William and Margaret on 19 Dec 1805 joined two very early families of Belmont County settlers. This union would produce 12 children who would take their spouses from families named; White, Harris, Milligan, Rankin, Galloway, Stewart, Brannen, Cockayne and Woodburn.'' <ref>Submitted By bkwatl on Ancestry. www.workmanfamily.org/histories/AndersonBook</ref>
