Daniel was born c. 1628 or 1628, probably at London, the eldest child of [[Gorsuch-22|John Gorsuch]] and [[Lovelace-8|Anne Lovelace]].<ref name="VMHB24.1">J. H. Daniel remained in England, although his mother emigrated to Virginia after the death of his father in 1647. Daniel married an Unknown wife and had a daughter named Ann before 1622. This is evidenced by his grandmother Alice Gorsuch's 1662 Will, which mentions his daughter, Ann, and for which Daniel was the Administrator of his mother's estate, and again in 1662, when he was the executor of his grandmother Gorsuch:.<ref name="VMHB24.2"/> We have no further information.

Ann Gorsuch, daughter of "my grandson Daniell Gorsuch", was named in the July 7, 1662 will of his grandmother [[Hall-347|Alice (Hall) Gorsuch]], of Weston, Co. Hertford, spinster, widow of Daniel Gorsuch, proved February 3, 1662-3 in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, to receive an equal division among six grandchildren of "my lease for about five years yet to come, of about £52 a year in the parish of St. Olave, Southwark, payable by Frances Wilkinsonne and Richard Daniell. <ref name="jhp"> The Gorsuch and Lovelace Families, by J.
