      == Biography ==The baptism of William Paxson, son of James & Jane (Clerk) Paxton, on December 21, 1648 was recorded in the records of St. Mary's Church in Marsh Gibbon.<ref name=Grundy>MJP Grundy, ''Paxson Family in Colonial Bucks County'' (2002), online [http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~paxson/PaxsonCol.html#2William rootsweb] (3/3/2015)</ref>
      He first married while in England Mary Sydenham<ref>''Grundy'', citing "an old family bible" as the source for William's first wife's maiden name</ref>. William emigrated with his family and brother James to Pennsylvania aboard ''[[:Category: Amity, sailed April 1682|Amity]]'' in 1682. They were [[:Category:Pennsylvania Quakers|Quakers]] and each carried certificate of removal dated April 3, 1682 from the [[:Category:Upperside Monthly Meeting, Buckinghamshire | Upperside Monthly Meeting]] in Bucks England.
      William's second wife was widow Mary (Packingham) White, whom he married in Pennsylvania probably before September 1698<ref>''Grundy'', citing a marriage certificate signed by Mary as "Mary Paxson" and Grace White, her daughter</ref>
      William was buried at the burial grounds of Middletown meeting on January 2, 1709/10. His will was signed August 23, 1709 and proven January 26, 1709/10.<ref name=Grundy/>
